Do You Register Lot Numbers During Every Treatment?

Most practitioners are aware of the regulatory requirement to register lot numbers during (aesthetic) treatments. The lot number enables tracing of the constituent ingredients as well as labor and equipment records involved in the manufacturing of a product. This enables manufacturers and other entities to perform quality control checks or recall information to subsets of their production output. It also gives entities an identifier that they can use in contacting the manufacturer in case of a possible public health problem.

Lot number registration could cost you valuable time or simply be annoying whenever you need to type the number over and over again.

A different important requirement for clinics, associated with lot number registration, is being able to perform a patient recall from their patient database based on the registered lot numbers.

By using an EMR (electronic medical record) you’re able to efficiently register the lot numbers and additionally specify for each treatment type if this is optional or required.
