We will be rolling out a new feature called ‘Video consultation’ soon. The feature, which builds a one-on-one video conferencing software directly into Clinicminds itself, is an addition that replicates B2B (business-to-business) video conferencing solutions. In light of the current Corona crisis, but also to support future endeavors in an increasingly digital world.

To help physicians stay in touch with their patients, remote Video Consultations will allow practitioners to hold a virtual consultation via a secure connection. Using a webcam and microphone/speakers, the doctor and patient are able to communicate and see each other. This allows clinics to recreate a consultation or review efficiently and from a comfy environment, like the patient’s home.

Why video consultation?

“Video Consultations keep things simple. There’s no complicated set-up. It takes just one click to start a video call to a patient,” explains Daniel, responsible for business development at Clinicminds. “The doctor can see their patient from anywhere, allowing for an uninterrupted workflow if the possibility of a physical appointment is hindered. There’s no need to download any additional software, and the conversation is encrypted for GDPR/HIPAA compliance.”

Some of the advantages will be:

  1. Integrated with the calendar. For video appointments, a link will be generated automatically and sent to the patient via email and SMS, with an extra reminder just before the online consultation starts.
  2. Integration with the online scheduler, so patients can easily schedule a Video Consultation themselves via the clinic’s website.
  3. Integration with the EMR, allowing the clinic’s practitioner to easily start the video calls and work in the patient’s medical record simultaneously.

To support clinics during the Corona crisis, all Clinicminds users will gain access to Video consultations free of charge, for the first two months after its release. This feature will be available as an add-on for an additional price afterward.

Video Consultations will begin rolling out in April to all Clinicminds users. Clinicminds is fully committed to launching this feature ASAP.
